Veritatem facientes in Caritate
A society of apostolic life of pontifical right, the Institute has as its end the glory of God and the sanctification of priests in the service of the Church and souls. Its missionary purpose is the spread and defence of the Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ in every domain of human life, in fidelity to the traditional Roman liturgy.
The three pillars of our life and apostolate
Through fidelity to the traditional liturgy of the Roman Church.
In a spirit of Salesian charity and gentleness: preaching, confessions, retreats.
Gregorian chant, polyphony and sacred arts, where beauty is placed at the service of holiness.
The Institute celebrates its whole liturgical life according to the traditional books of the Roman Church: the 1962 Roman Missal for Holy Mass, the Breviary of Blessed John XXIII for the Divine Office. This fidelity, confirmed by the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum (2007), lies at the heart of our charism. Monsignor Wach likes to compare Holy Mass to “a precious diamond” that requires a worthy setting.
In the heart of the Tuscan hills, at Gricigliano near Florence, the international Saint Philip Neri Seminary forms the future canons. Seven years of formation there unite the philosophy and theology of Saint Thomas Aquinas, liturgical life, prayer and community life, under the patronage of the Immaculate and the three patron saints of the Institute.
Is God calling you to serve Him as a priest, or as a Sister Adorer?
Born in Gabon and established in Tuscany, the Institute today numbers more than one hundred and seventy canons and many seminarians, present on several continents. From Europe to Africa and the Americas, including the Shrine in Chicago, its apostolates carry the Reign of Christ the King everywhere.
Your generosity supports the formation of priests, the apostolate and the works of the Institute.
